Cupcakes + Movie = Love!

July 12, 2012 at 11:47 pm (Uncategorized)

OK, we all do it.  You head to the movies with a couple of friends and next thing you know you’re paying $5 for a $0.99 box of candy that contains, what? …Wait, does that really say carnauba wax?  Isn’t that what they put in car wax?

Well, no more my friends! The Divine Cupcake has partnered with David Minor Theater.  Thats right!  Cupcakes at the movies.  What could be better?   How about not having to leave your seat to get your sugar fix?  With the theater’s new “TXT-a-beer” feature simply text your order to 541-913-5733 and have your cupcake brought to you without having to miss a second of the movie.

The theater will feature three of our signature flavors.  Snickerdoodle,  Chocolate Coma, and Lime n’ a Coconut.  If you’re looking for more variety check out our new Leapfrog Cart right next door in the parking lot on the corner of E.5th and Pearl.  Not only do we have several flavors to choose from every day but we are offering coffee and espresso too.

Forget the popcorn and have a cupcake next time you’re at the movies!

…And Cupcakes For All

June 19, 2012 at 7:19 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

Did you know 1 in 25 Americans suffer from food allergies?  For many this means things like sweet treats are off limits.  But not here at The Divine Cupcake!

Approximately 2.5% of children younger than 3 years of age are allergic to milk.  Simple things like cake at a friend’s birthday party are often off limits.  Well, not anymore.  All of our baked goods are always vegan.  This means no dairy and happy birthdays for lucky kids everywhere.

Vegan baking also offers an alternative to another common childhood allergy…Eggs.  Egg allergy is estimated to affect approximately 1.5% of young children.  Our bakers are working hard daily using kitchen magic to ensure you’ll never miss the eggs in these cupcakes.

Awareness for yet another allergy is also on the rise.  An estimated 3 million Americans across all races, ages and genders suffer from celiac.  Not only can we make every flavor in a gluten free option but we have at least three gluten free options available in our café everyday including muffins and scones.

If the prospect of a vegan gluten free cupcake that actually tastes amazing isn’t enough, we also offer sugar free and soy free options by special order.

We firmly believe that having a food allergy (or two) doesn’t mean giving up on life’s little pleasures.

At The Divine Cupcake we strive for happiness and cupcakes for all.

The Divine Cupcake Joins Beer Week

May 11, 2012 at 9:38 pm (Events, Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , , , )

Okay, we all know wine and cheese go together.  Beer and cheese? Sure, why not? Cupcakes and beer? What? Yes.

Our amazing Kitchen Manager, Eli, and 16 Tons Taphouse and Café owner, Mike Coplin, were the masterminds behind Suds, Sweets, and Smarts.  Five fabulous cake and beer pairings that will blow your mind. Created just for the 2nd annual Eugene Beer Week.

-Elysian Avatar Jasmine IPA with Tao of Green(green tea)

-Elysian Peste Dark Chocolate Chili Ale with Swizzle Stick(spicy mexican chocolate)

-Rouge Hazelnut Brown Ale with Salted Caramel

-Widmer Imperial Russian Raspberry Stout with Death by Chocolate

-Boneyard Hop Venom with Carrot Cake topped with IPA Buttercream

The Salted Caramel – Rouge Hazelnut and Death by Chocolate – Widmer pairings were definitely the popular choices of the evening.  However, in our opinion, the Jasmine IPA – Tao of Green “takes the cake”, so to speak.  The floral flavor of the IPA combines with the sweet Matcha cake to create a truly zen experience.

Folks lining up for their pairings.

Only $3 set you up with a mini cupcake and a beer.  That meant trying all five pairings only set you back $15.  Not bad for a night out on the town.  The first 60 folks through the door walked a way with a free Widmer beer glass.

We want to thank everyone who came out.  We would especially like to thank Mike and the 16 Tons crew for setting everything up.

So, next time you’re craving a cupcake, forget the milk and pour yourself a frosty cold brew.

Weddings and Cupcakes Make a Great Couple

July 17, 2011 at 9:58 pm (Weddings)

Summer weddings are such fun for us! They stimulate our creativity and keep us busy, but not as busy as the brides and grooms who have to make all the decisions. Our wish for those of you getting married is that your choices will go smoothly and turn out exactly right. We promise to do our part to help make that happen. Just tell us what you need.

Wedding details and decisions can seem to go on forever. You already know to whom and why you’re getting married, which is the most important, but still you want the day to be as you envision it: when and where you get married, style of wedding, invitations, bridesmaids dresses, flowers, your wedding dress and the food. The list of details is long.

We appreciate all our customers and are glad to be in this business at this time since delicious and unique cupcakes are growing in popularity. We enjoy them as much as you do.

However, we are curious, at Divine Cupcake, about what you feel are the pros and cons of wedding cupcakes versus wedding traditional cake. Obviously, we know how we feel about it, but we want to hear from you about such things as: design flair and taste, planning and convenience, cutting or distributing to guests, set up, trends and cost. Give us your vote.

Are wedding cupcakes here to stay?

Best wishes! … and

“Love, honor and negotiate!”

-Alan Loy McGinnies, The Romance Factor

To help us and others learn, we would also like to hear about any personal experiences you’ve had with wedding cupcakes, as a bride or as a guest!  If you have any fabulous photos to share please send them our way to

Divine Cupcakes at Faerieworlds Event

June 29, 2011 at 7:22 pm (Events)

It’s all about wings! What do sunny days (fantastically warm without Eugene’s clouds and rain), rhythmic music and dance, delicious food, fun and friends bring to mind? Our Lemon Heaven and Warm Fuzzy cupcakes, or a cup of Yunnan Gold Tip tea…maybe!

How about the 10th Faerieworlds Summer Celebration earlier this month?

The festival was a spectacular way to begin the summer. Were you there? Let us know. As a vendor, we enjoyed seeing customers and friends, along with lots of new faces, too. Are you curious about the festival? We’ll tell you about it next time you’re in. Musical and celestial—sweet! …as our Red Velvet.

Summertime is all about fun times, but we know life gets very busy! It’s hard to keep up with it all, so let us help you out. Treat yourself by letting us bake it and you take it—everyone will be glad you did. Beautifully decorated and delicious, our distinctive flavors of cupcakes stand out at showers, family gatherings, birthday parties. Our motto: If people are there, cupcakes should be shared. And just so you know, all we need is at least 24 hours to prepare most special orders. A variety of cupcakes are available for smaller last minute orders.

Divine Cupcake options are always abundant and ever changing. If you have suggestions, let us know. We want to remind you, especially with kids and family special diet needs, that we offer wheat/gluten/soy/sugar free, organic and vegan.

Have the best summer ever, and a healthy and safe one, with wings or not!
